Picture Frame Steel Band Clamp (35)
Assemble your mitered frame pieces together without glue inside the un-tightened corners of the clamp.Check for squareness and ensure all miter joints fit tightly. Fixing gaps or bad cuts is much easier before glue is involved.2. Position the Band and CornersLay the steel or high-strength woven strap flat around the perimeter of the frame.Place the plastic or pivoting metal corner angles/jaws on each of the four corners of the frame. Ensure the band sits evenly flush within the slots of each corner piece.3. Apply Initial TensionTurn the handle or ratchet mechanism to take up the slack.Tighten it to hand-tightness. Pause to inspect all four corners to make sure the plastic or metal corner blocks are seating squarely against the wood and haven't slipped up or down. 4. Glue and SecureLoosen the clamp just enough to slide the frame apart slightly at each joint, apply your wood glue, and reposition them back into the corner brackets.Crank the handle down to apply final tension. You should see a small amount of glue squeeze out uniformly across the miter joints, indicating proper pressure.
